„Art creates a profound connection
between the artist and the audience.
Through that connection both can heal.“
- aus “The Creative Act”, Rick Rubin
Mezzo-soprano Ulrike Malotta captivates audiences with the warmth of her timbre and her sensitive musical expression. Her interpretations are characterized by clarity, depth, and a special connection with the audience - qualities that have made her a sought-after performer on international stages.
In the 2025/26 season, the singer will expand her repertoire with a special milestone: her debut in Verdi's Requiem. She will also perform at the Tyrolean Festival Erl, give her first concert with the St. Thomas Choir Leipzig in Bach's Mass in B minor, and return to the Dresden Kreuzchor with Bach's Christmas Oratorio. In addition, she will interpret numerous major orchestral and choral works – from Beethoven's Ninth Symphony and Missa Solemnis to Stanford's Requiem and Karl Jenkins' and Dvořák's Stabat Mater – in which her artistic versatility is impressively reflected. At the same time, she is devoting more of her time to the Romantic song repertoire with her piano partner Hedayet Djeddikar and is performing at renowned song venues throughout Germany. Chamber music with various ensembles is particularly close to her heart, and she is passionately committed to it.

Ulrike Malotta performs on the world's most prestigious stages, from the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg and the Concertgebouw Amsterdam to the Tonhalle Zurich, the Philharmonie Luxembourg, Bozar Brussels, the Rudolfinum Prague, the Palau de la Música Catalana Barcelona, and the Maison Symphonique Montréal, as well as the Lucerne Festival, Dresden Music Festival, Rheingau Music Festival, Gstaad Menuhin Festival, and Oregon Bach Festival. She works regularly with ensembles such as the Nederlandse Bachvereniging, Concerto Köln, the Basel Chamber Orchestra, the Akademie für Alte Musik, the Dresden Festival Orchestra, the Bochum Symphony Orchestra, the Munich Radio Orchestra, the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, and the Gürzenich Orchestra, as well as with the choirs of BR, WDR, and NDR choirs, performing under conductors such as Václav Luks, Thomas Hengelbrock, Ulf Schirmer, Lars Ulrik Mortensen, Philippe Herreweghe, Jos van Veldhoven, Hans-Christoph Rademann, Justin Doyle, and Peter Dijkstra.

Highlights of recent seasons have included a European tour as Waltraute in Wagner's Die Walküre under Kent Nagano, Mendelssohn's Elijah and St. Paul at the Festival de Lanaudière in Canada, major Bach tours with the RIAS Chamber Choir, and the Christmas Oratorio under Vladimir Jurowski at the Berlin Philharmonic and under Christoph Poppen in Hong Kong.
In addition to her intensive concert activities, she loves the opera stage, where she enjoys expressing her versatility and dramatic talent. She has appeared as Endimione in Cavalli's La Calisto at the Staatstheater Darmstadt, as Floßhilde and 2nd Norn in Wagner's Ring at the Staatstheater Wiesbaden, and in Penderecki's The Devils of Loudun at the Bavarian State Opera.
Her artistic work is also documented on numerous recordings – most recently in Carl Loewe's oratorio Hiob and the Mass in A-flat major with the Dresden Philharmonic.
